Wine Review: This pitch black Chateauneuf du Pape opens with a mild blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and coats the mouth nicely. The flavor profile is blackberry with notes of black licorice and black pepper. The finish is very dry and its substantial tannins are a bit distracting at the moment. Mark and I think it needs a little time to settle down. If you can't resist, decant this wine for a while in the near term and serve it with a well-marbled steak. Enjoy - Ken
