Wine Review: This opaque, deep garnet red blend from the Haut-Medoc region is intensely aromatic with notes of beef bouillon, toasted molasses bread, smoldering wood chips and graphite. The palate uncovers a dense mix of cassis, blueberry and bramble fruit flavors followed by hints of vanilla and chocolate. With its full body, prominent oak and spirited tannins, the wine has vivacity that carries it to a long and rich finish of impressive length. Try pairing now with a wood-grilled entrecote or hold a few bottles for another 2-5 years. – Jeoff
Winemaker Notes: Purple-garnet in color, the 2016 displays an intense nose of elderberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, myrtle and fresh raspberries against a background of light, mellow woodiness. The dense palate immediately reveals good volume, followed by a dense framework of fresh, mature tannins. Flavorsome, meaty, full-bodied and powerful, it develops robustly towards a finish which highlights the fullness of the fruit. Magnificent!
