Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Leoville Las Cases opens with a black olive and black raspberry bouquet with hints of loam. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is a black olive and slightly tart black plum blend with notes of cassis and stone dust. We also detected hints of black cherry. The finish is dry, and its flavors and refined moderate dusty tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Cab with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken & Dave
Winemaker Notes: This vintage will have been marked in the vineyard by an early start, a late epilogue and sudden increases in power requiring the reactivity of the teams at each stage and on every aspect of supporting the vineyard. Despite these conditions Léoville Las Cases was able to produce great Cabernets, deep and elegant, complex and tense, as well as suave and airy Merlots. A Grand Vin de Léoville Las Cases, distinguished, fresh and rich with beautiful aromatic complexity, signing this vintage with extreme elegance.
