Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Ducru-Beaucaillou opens with a cassis and cedar bouquet with hints of green olive and spearmint. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and very delicate. The flavor profile is a stone dust and gentle black currant blend with notes of mild black tea and red licorice. I also detected hints of oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: This wine showcases a beautiful inky color.
Nose: Pure and concentrated, the nose mixes fragrances of crème de cassis with floral (fresh violet) and fruity (blackberry, blueberry) notes. When aerated, notes of exotic spices, cedar, cigar box and smoked graphite emerge.
Palate: Silky and very precise, the palate is seduced by this wine's fine tannins, its freshness and its vivacity. The palate gradually develops a power that stretches to a persistent and vibrant finish.
