Wine Review: This pitch-black colored wine from St. Julien opens with a blackberry and black licorice bouquet with hints of cedar and black currant. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity that settles with time. The mouthfeel is balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is black currant and blackberry blend with notes of black tea and graphite. We also detected hints of black licorice, black pepper, and stewed black plum in the mix. The finish is dry, and its bold tannins build-up and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would decant this wine for a while and then pair it with well-marbled tannins. Enjoy – KWGTP
