Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Charles Krug opens with a red currant and dried strawberry bouquet with hints of black licorice nips. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and seamless. The flavor profile is a cassis and red plum blend with notes of stone dust. I also detected hints of cocoa powder and a touch of licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and well-managed tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this approachable and friendly Cab with a juicy bacon and Swiss bistro burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Sourced principally from our five family estates in Yountville, our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon presents a rich mix of blackberry and black cherry aromas and flavors, as well as nuanced flavors of nutmeg, clove, tobacco leaf, fresh cigar box, fresh coffee grounds, and savory spices. A hint of chocolate covered raspberry and cocoa dusting rounds out the finish.
