Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a menthol and red currant bouquet with hints of black raspberry and toasty oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, creamy, and balanced. The flavor profile is concentrated black raspberry and crushed stone minerality blend with notes of red licorice and cherry-cola. We also detected hints of tobacco leaf and oak. The finish displays moderate tannins that drift away nicely. This Cab is made in a crowd-pleasing fashion. The Tasting Panel would pair it with a pork tenderloin or filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Caymus 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet color with a red-tawny edge. On the nose, it has that aromatically flamboyant Caymus style featuring the aroma's of a French oak barrel and cassis-like tones, saddle leather and espresso. This wine's palate is full, rich with abundant soft tannins and a hint of rustic grittiness. It has a youthful energy, which makes it eminently enjoyable for current drinking, yet age worthy to gain additional complexity over the next half-decade.
