Wine Review: This "Red Wine" from the Douro region is deep ruby in color with aromas of lilac blossom, red raspberry, and sweet pipe tobacco. On the palate, the wine is medium minus in body with flavors of plum and dried cherry followed by cranberry and black tea. The oak treatment is modest, mellowing and the tannins are nicely integrated. The finish is very dry and holds for a moderate length of time. Pair with Cataplana stew with sausage and clams. – Jeoff
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of red berries and spices reveal gentle maceration in order to preserve the typical notes of these grape varieties and make the wine ready for consumption after bottling. Typical aromas of Douro grape varieties. Sweet hints of rock rose, flowers, blackberries and spices add to the aromatic complexity. Very smooth on the palate with balanced acidity and fine tannins. Serve on its own or pairing with traditional, Mediterranean and Asian cuisine.
