Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Touriga Franca based blend from Portugal opens with a blackberry and blueberry bouquet with hints of ripe plum, leather and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is mild espresso and black plum blend with notes of crushed stone minerality and green tea. We also detected some hints of black cherry, oak and spices. The finish is pleasant, dry and its moderate tannins linger nicely. We would pair with Brazilian Picanha steak or a juicy burger. Enjoy – Ken & Joe
Winemaker Notes: Very complex, intense aromas with the Touriga Franca conveying wild berries and rock rose. Spices and red fruit from the Tinta Roriz and very fresh and elegant floral notes of violet from the Touriga Nacional. Sweet and full on the palate, with very soft, polished tannins and a long, warm finish. Serve with game or Mediterranean cuisine.
