Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with wet stone and black plum bouquet with hints of dried coconut, blackberry, and oolong tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a complex blend of black plum and stone dust with notes of iced oolong tea and tobacco. We also detected hints of mushroom, pomegranate, and red licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. We would pair this Pinot with beef bourguignon or with a German chocolate cake.
