Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a black cherry and black plum bouquet with hints of violets and dried strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and really smooth. The flavor profile is a stewed plum and dried strawberry blend with notes of oak and stony minerality. We also detected some hints of spice and mild cherry. The finish is very dry and its very dusty tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. We would suggest you sit on this very young Pinot in your cellar for a while. If you cannot wait, then you should definitely decant this Cab drinkers style Pinot for quite some time to let the tannins settle down. After a long decant, we would pair this Pinot with braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
