Wine Review: This red colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a fragrant cranberry and forest floor bouquet with hints of strawberry and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, velvety, layered, and savory. The flavor profile is red cherry and red plum blend with notes of crushed stone minerality, strawberry, and oolong tea. We also detected hints of orange zest in the after taste. The finish is dry and its refined and well-managed tannins are nicely sustained. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with a grilled hanger steak or rack of lamb. You can also certainly enjoy it on its own. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Showcasing the power and poise that make the 1975 Pinot Noir plantings at Selleck Vineyard so remarkable, this gorgeous wine offers vibrant aromas of pomegranate, raspberry, and Rainier cherry along with a hint of sweet saddle leather. On the palate, it is bright and beautifully acid-driven, with an energetic mouthfeel that carries the wine to a long, lavish finish.
