Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Calera was a hit with the Tasting Panel. It opens with a red cherry and gentle oak bouquet with hints of strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well-balanced, smooth and soft. The flavor profile is a tasty mild cola and milk chocolate blend with notes of fine minerality and spice drop. We also detected hints of plum and strawberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate well-managed tannins are nicely prolonged. The Panel suggested enjoying this Pinot on it own. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: At more than 40 years old, the coveted old vines of Jensen Vineyard have produced a wine that impeccably balances elegance and complexity with depth and gravitas. Enticing aromas of blackberry, orange peel and spearmint hover above the glass. On the palate, layers of cherry and sassafras mingle with the dark berry flavors, while silky tannins and excellent natural acidity carry the wine to lush, vibrant conclusion.
