Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Cakebread opens with a black currant and tobacco bouquet with hints of coffee grounds, eucalyptus, and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, fresh, and savory. The flavor profile is a black currant and stony minerality blend with notes of tobacco and black cherry. We also detected hints of graphite, dark cocoa, and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its acidity, flavors, and moderate tannins showed nice length. This Cab would pair perfectly with braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon features layered notes of ripe blackberry, dark plum, and boysenberry complemented by hints of dark chocolate, baking spices and toasty oak. Rich dark fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and finely knit tannins, creating a full-bodied yet elegant structure.
