Wine Review: This midnight black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Cade is very impressive. It opens with a black cherry and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and oak blend with notes of black plum. We also detected hints of cola and a touch coffee mixed in. The finish is dry and its tannins show very nice length. This Cab was so well received by our group that we ordered a second bottle. It paired perfectly with my ribeye steak at Ocean Prime in Boston. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2014 CADE Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain is soft, supple, open-knit and a real beauty. The color is a healthy, deep purple and the wine full-bodied, rich with mulberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, graphite and spice – insanely approachable now given its silky personality but capable of evolving for up to 15 – 20 years, if you’re patient enough.
