Wine Review: This dark red colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Brandlin opens with a cigar box and craisin bouquet with hints of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, polished, fresh, and juicy. The flavor profile is black plum and cedar plank blend with notes blueberry and graphite. We also detected hints of red currant and red cherry. The finish is dry and its persistent and refined dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with bacon wrapped filet, a mushroom risotto, or a wild mushroom soup. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Despite the smaller yield, 2015 produced wines of power and richness. Our Brandlin Cabernet is brimming with notes of black currants, violets, rose petals, and black cherry with a hint of camphor. A blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Franc, the wine is plush and round on the palate with fine mountain tannins and a long, satiny finish.
