Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Gewurztraminer was one of my favorite wines from the white wine session of live blogging at the WBC in Portland. This wine opens with an inviting mild lychee bouquet with a hint of peach. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and fresh. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild peach with hints of lychee and spice. The finish is very dry and very refreshing. This Gewurz would pair very nicely with chicken lo-mein. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Tangerine, honey and tea roses dominate the expressive bouquet. Pithy grapefruit comes through in the mouth with lychee and green apple notes. The wine is medium bodied, starting with a bit of sweetness, supported by nice acidity that finishes clean and dry. Sip this wine as an aperitif with fruits and cheese, blue being a natural partner. To give you more ideas, this wine would pair very nicely with sushi.
