Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from Bouchard Père & Fils opens with a musty barnyard, raspberry, cigar box, and cinnamon bouquet with hints of red cherry and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium minus bodied with delicate acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, tight, and savory. The flavor profile is an Earl Grey tea, gentle red plum, and light cedar blend with notes of stony minerality, cinnamon, and loam. We also detected hints of black raspberry, dried strawberry, and rosemary. The finish is dry and moderate grippy tannins build-up and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel feels this Pinot benefits greatly from aeration. So, we would decant it for a while before serving it with beef bourguignon or lamb kabobs. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Tasting Note: Expressive nose developing red berry notes and a light oaky hint. Tender and delicate, with an elegant structure, this is a wine with of charm. Good ageing potential.
Food/Wine Pairing: Ribs, leg, and loin of lamb.
