Wine Review: This pale straw colored white blend opens with an appealing mild Anjou pear bouquet with hints of quince. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty ripe Anjou pear and mineral blend. I also detected hints of honey, ginger and faint quince as well. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for quite some time. This white blend is very food friendly and would pair nicely with Coquille St. Jacques. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: With this in mind, one finds in the Cigare Blanc Reserve many of the qualities that one has come to love in white Burgundy – a lush, creamy texture, a haunting suggestion of the skin of pear (or is it quince?), as well as absolutely formidable length on the palate. This wine might be thought of as a "meditation wine," i.e. most suitable with the simplest fare, especially cheese, but will also pair very nicely with rich dishes – lobster (and fennel) risotto, scallops, and of course, sea urchin.
