Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Bonanza opens with a plum, blackberry and cedar bouquet with toast notes. The medium bodied palate is round, smooth, sweet, and juicy. The flavor profile is blackberry, strawberry licorice, and blueberry blend with notes of spice and minerals. I also detected hints of light oak and dark chocolate. The finish is pleasant and fades away nicely. This crowd pleasing and food friendly Cab would go well with a beef and pork Bolognese. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: Bonanza is a California Cabernet Sauvignon that speaks to the simple pleasures of day-to-day life. Created by Chuck Wagner of Caymus Vineyards, this wine is delicious, accessible, and enjoyable over a meal. It’s made from the "Bonanza" of our great state. Vineyard sites that hold potential to produce good Cabernet but are often overlooked. It features flavors of luscious fruit, dark chocolate, and silky tannins.
