Wine Review: This translucent straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc opens with a tropical bouquet that includes pears, ripe cantaloupe and apricot. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, crisp, lively and has smooth edges. The flavor profile is mixture of pink grapefruit, lemon and lime, honeydew, green apple and stone fruit. I enjoyed the balance minerality and mouthwatering acidity mixed in. There is only 6% Viognier but is seems like more given wines nice structure. The attractive finish was palate filling and slightly dry with hints of peaches showing up towards the end. I thought there was more body in this Baby Blue Blanc than what you might find with a typical Sauvignon Blanc, so I would recommend pairing it with a creamy ham and pea carbonara. - Joe
Winemaker Notes: Our 2018 Sauvignon Blanc features exotic aromas of lychee fruit, guava and lemongrass, plus an alluring note of wet stone, all complimented by honeysuckle and tangerine from a splash of Viognier in our final blend. Additional flavors of white peach, ripe pear and lingering lime round out the palate experience. The 20% barrel-fermented adds a beautiful texture to envelop the vibrant acidity and makes for a balanced and richly satisfying sip from start to finish.
