Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet based blend from Paso Robles is very good. It opens with a fragrant boysenberry and blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty blueberry and plum blend with notes of black cherry. I also detected hints of minerality and strawberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair nicely with braised short ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby in color, the 2013 vintage of this classic Bordeaux blend is a beautiful expression of the Paso Robles appellation. The nose has bright notes of olallieberry and ripe plum, layered with roasted macadamia nuts and wet river rock. The palate is supple, intense and refined with underlying notes of oak and baking spice, followed by a hint a red cherry. Enjoy this beautifully crafted blend with roasted leg of lamb or a hearty beef stew.
