Wine Review: We have been searching for some Good Value wines recently and found that the Big House portfolio delivers terrific quality and value at a very affordable price point. This wine called the Slammer is very dark ruby colored and opens with an aromatic mild spicy blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and rather juicy. The flavor profile is a soft and gentle blueberry and raspberry blend. The finish is dry and subtle. This wine would be a fine option at you cookout this summer. Pair it with grilled barbecue ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is a full bodied Syrah; forceful, perhaps even a bit "dangerous" dare I say (that’s why he’s locked up in solitary). Muscular and deeply concentrated, this wine has a nose of sweet blackberry jam and hints of dark chocolates. Balanced and well structured, it bodes a well- rounded mouth feel and a long, pleasant aftertaste. This wine can be enjoyed now.
