Wine Review: This clear and deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Beringer opens with a black plum, mixed berry pie, and violet bouquet with hints of purple jellybean, roasted black olive and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a boysenberry and stewed black plum blend with notes of oolong tea and olive. We also detected some hints of oak, blueberry, and stone dust mixed in. The finish is dry, and its moderate polished tannins stick around for a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with Stuart’s steak treats. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Dark violet with shimmering garnet color tones, the 2020 Knights Valley Reserve has a beautiful bouquet of ripe black cherry and boysenberry, with touches of tea leaf, lavender, and fresh sage. The fruit is bright and lively, showing flavors of black currant, blackberries, and crème de cassis cordial, supported by warm spice notes of cinnamon, vanilla bean, and allspice. Velvety-rich in texture with fine-grained polished tannins and an elegant lengthy finish with concentrated, dense, dark fruit, accompanied by a precise tension and balance that pleases the palate from first sip to last.
