Wine Review: This pale straw Chardonnay from Beringer opens with a lemon, pineapple, and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and balanced. The mouthfeel is round and smooth. The flavor profile is an oak influenced pear with notes of pie crust. I also detected hints of pineapple and Meyer lemon. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This rich Chard would be fine on its own for lovers of this style. With food, try it with a sharp cheddar cheese. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Luminus features bright aromas of white flowers, star jasmine, honeysuckle, and lemon zest. The captivating aromas lead to a flavorful and medium-bodied palate where white nectarine, essence of bergamot, lemon and lime notes mingle with creamy butterscotch and hazelnut nougat flavors. The judicious use of French oak lends a subtle nutty spice character. Bâttonage provides an unexpectedly plush mouthfeel, and bright acidity leaves a lingering, pleasant finish with hints of stone minerality.
