Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Zinfandel from Benovia is terrific! It opens with an inviting blackberry and stewed red plum bouquet with hints of cola, tobacco and lavender. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, well-balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty blackberry and stewed red plum blend with notes of vanilla, cola and black currant. The finish is dry and its flavors and fine tannins drift away nicely. The Panel prefer to drink this Zin on its own. With food we would recommend it with a filet mignon or venison steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine exhibits lively aromas of vine-ripened loganberries, cinnamon and nutmeg spices. On the palate the wines exuberant fruit is in perfect harmony with bright acidity, fine grained tannin and a spice-laden finish. Utilizing Burgundian techniques produce an elegant and restrained Zinfandel, while still capturing the intensity of the varietal. This wine is delicious upon release but will benefit from 3-7 years of cellar aging.
