Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Benovia opens with a pomegranate and cranberry bouquet with hints of red plum, cherry-cola and nutmeg. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and has a nice mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a tart plum and Bing cherry blend with notes of oak and cranberry. We also detected hints of dark chocolate, matchstick and black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors and very fine tannins drift away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with a rosemary lamb chop or a duck breast with a sweet cherry sauce. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 vintage provided a "Russian River Valley" Pinot Noir with intense fruit and spice aromas and a layered texture. Dominant aromas of blackberry and boysenberry give way to red plum, toasted brioche and allspice, while black fruits occupy the palate with integrated acidity and fine-grained tannins that allow for mid-term cellaring.
