Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Benovia is terrific. It opens with an inviting black raspberry bouquet with hints of black plum, clove and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, round and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a spiced black raspberry and oak blend with notes of crushed stone. I also detected hints of clove, black pepper and black cherry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and flavors stick around for quite away. This Pinot would pair well with Julia Child's coq au vin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby in color, vibrant raspberry, black plum, boysenberry and baking spice aromas flourish on the nose. A refreshingly juicy mouthfeel is buoyed by plum and pomegranate, which builds through the mid-palate and finishes satisfyingly with fine grain tannins. An intriguing blend of power and restraint this Pinot Noir is both savory and delicately fruity.
