Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Benovia is Excellent! It opens with a pineapple, vanilla and toasted oak bouquet with hints of and lemon crème brulee. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with plus acidity. We also felt it was lush and velvety. The flavor profile is a lemon square and toasted oak blend with notes of coconut. We also detected hints of green apple, gentle minerality and pear. The finish is dry and its acidity and flavors linger nicely. I also found this wine improved even more over two days and with some additional air. The Panel suggested pairing this gem with baked stuffed lobster or tuna carpaccio. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2017 "La Pommeraie" Chardonnay is an expressive wine with exceptional complexity. It features aromas of lemon custard and Fuji apple that are accentuated by ginger and mineral notes and followed by opulent texture and layered flavors of Fuji apple and poached pear on the palate with a mineral laden finish.
