Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay from the Russian River was quite a crowd pleaser. It opens with a vanilla oak and creme brulee like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and displays a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a vanilla oak and ginger blend with notes of pear and a hint of butterscotch. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Chardonnay is food friendly and it would pair nicely with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 2012 Russian River Valley Chardonnay is bursting with aromas of citrus blossoms, nectarine and spice baked pears. The multifaceted aromas and dense mouth feel are knit together by centered acidity and a long-complex candied apricot finish. Barrel fermentation and oak aging for 14 months have added hints of candied ginger, and baking spice to a subtle minerality on the finish.
