Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Sangiovese is very good. It opens with an appealing blueberry and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a very tasty blueberry and cedar blend with notes of minerality. I also detected hints of tart cherry, acai berry and a hint of chai tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins drift away nicely. This wine is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with veal parmigiana. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This selection of Sangiovese is medium ruby red colour. The ample bouquet opens with scents of camellias and wild roses, followed by notes of black currant and red plums, and hints of eucalyptus and sandalwood. The Grandi Annate is well-balanced and round, with concentration and structure coming from the soil and elegance and finesse coming from the age of the vines. The tannins are firm but silky, and the fruity, elegant mid-palate leads towards a long finish reminiscent of cedar.
