Wine Review: This pitch black colored Tempranillo from Artadi is terrific. It opens with a blackberry bouquet with hints of oak and black licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild blackberry with notes of nicely integrated minerality and faint oak. I also detected hints of black cherry in the background. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. This impressive Tempranillo would benefit from a little decanting. I would serve it with a dry-aged well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A wine with a well-defined and structured backbone that contains angular shapes which denote power. It presents itself with cautious speech in a submissive way when first entering the mouth, and the strength of its blended tannins and its powerful balance are appreciable in the mid-palate.
