Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Spanish Tempranillo is very good. It opens with a mild black cherry and faint anise bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very smooth and well balanced. The flavor profile is a tasty red plum and strawberry with notes of nicely integrated gentle oak. I also detected hints of black cherry. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This wine is extremely food friendly and I would enjoy with pappardelle with a wild boar ragu. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Vinas de Gain is ruby red in color with a violet rim. Containing enticing aromas of red plums, fresh raspberries, dark chocolate and notes of lightly toasted oak, this wine is somber, serious and yet approachable all at the same time. Containing silky tannins, fresh acidity and a smooth finish, the 2011 Vinas de Gain will age well for up to 15 years and will pair superbly with a wide variety of dishes.
