Wine Review: This pitch black colored wine from Rioja opens with a mild blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a rich blackberry and spice blend with notes of black licorice, gentle oak and black pepper. The finish is dry and its spicy flavors linger for quite some time. This wine was well received by all that tried it. We all agreed it would pair well with grilled steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A wine that clearly demonstrates the potential, quality and balance of a stellar Rioja, Vinas de Gain is deep purple in color with ruby - colored rim. Alluring aromas of wild berry jam, red flowers, laurel leaves, caramel, toffee and chocolate are found in the nose, while the palate is layered with silky tannins, unctuous acidity and notes of fresh blueberries, black currants, sweet spice and aromatic wood. Containing great body and a long, smooth finish, this wine can age for up to 15 years and will pair well with a wide variety of dishes.
