Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel opens with a red cherry bouquet with a hint of plum. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, smooth and juicy. The flavor profile is also cherry with notes of minerality and plum. We also detected hints of dark coffee and chocolate mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. The Panel thought this Zin was a bit of quaffer and we would suggest pairing it with Hungarian Goulash. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby and purple in color, the bright nose exhibits plums, dried strawberry, raspberry and blackberries. The rich yet not overripe flavors of red-vine licorice, anise, black cherry, and red currants are full-bodied and true to the varietal. The Petite Sirah in the blend contributes black pepper spice, racy acidity and firm structure, and gives this wine its fleshy, rustic personality. A judicious use of toasty oak adds subtle vanilla bean, supple tannins and a smoky nuance.
