Wine Review: This bright light yellow Chardonnay is Excellent and one of the best Chardonnays we have covered recently. It opens with an attractive apple and pear bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a delicious mild Bartlett pear with hints of apple and gentle oak. The blend of flavors is a perfect combination and very enjoyable. The finish is dry, elegant and its fruit flavors linger nicely. Pair this wine with Coquilles St. Jacques made with sweet Nantucket bay scallops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Chardonnay exhibits classic aromas of apple and pear along with honey and graham. Malolactic fermentation and battonage, the stirring of the lees, introduces a yeasty, leasy charactristic to the wine. Intense citrus flavors fill your mouth followed by a subtle toasty vanilla and ground spice flavor from the barrel aging. The wine finishes with a long, rich and lush finish.
