Wine Review: This deep purple colored Syrah from Andrew Murray is Excellent! It opens with a blackberry, black plum, cured meat and black licorice bouquet with hints of brownie batter. On the palate, this wine is medium-plus bodied with elevated acidity out of the gate, but it settles in nicely and becomes balanced quickly after opening. It has a smooth and very lush mouthfeel. The flavor profile is gentle black cherry and mild plum blend with notes of black pepper. There are faint hints of black licorice, oolong tea, cured meat, blueberry and graphite towards the very end. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and spicy flavors slowly drift away. This Syrah is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with a filet mignon or with wild boar ragu over pappardelle pasta. Enjoy – Ken & Jeoff
Winemaker Notes: Black cherry, candied violets, white flowers, dried apricots and white pepper.
