Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Chenin Blanc based blend from South Africa opens with an oak and ripe pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and very nicely balanced between its acidity and fruit. It also nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a very tasty lemon verbena and walnut blend with hints of minerality, quinine and a touch of ginger. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This white wine is very impressive and would pair perfectly with grilled scallops with lemon-herb drizzle. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: I almost think it's enough to quietly inform you that 2015 was an extremely good vintage for white wine in the Cape. So much so, that we're keeping quite a bit more than usual for ourselves. This bottling is intensely flavored; ripe pear, honey and limey citrus come to mind. There are herbal/floral notes too - spearmint and lime leaf. As with all of our 2015’s, the natural acid is a treat.
