Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Chenin Blanc based wine opens with a fragrant honey bouquet with hints of pear and pineapple. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, with nice acidity and a lush mouthfeel that is likely from the Semillon. The flavor profile is a concentrated ripe Bartlett pear with notes of nicely integrated minerality. I also detected hints of white pepper and a touch of ginger and honey in the background. The finish is subtle and drifts away nicely. This very good rich wine can certainly be enjoyed on its own. With food, I might try it with a homemade chicken pot pie. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The nose shows lemon peel, fennel, spearmint, ripe apple and pear, perhaps a touch of honey. The palate is very vibrant and fine, with ample texture and weight. The finish is long and refreshing. For me, this is the most balanced Cartology bottling to date. Is it arrogance to feel so good about a wine? Yep, probably.
