Wine Review: This bright yellow colored Chardonnay from Alamos opens with a green apple and light lemon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy to enjoy. The flavor profile is a gentle mild oak influenced green apple with notes of white pepper and Bosc pear. I also picked up a hint of almond towards the end. The finish is dry and this wines acidity and flavors are slightly prolonged. This good value Chardonnay is a very nice weekday option. It would pair well with many dishes. Grilled trout with lemon butter came to mind first for me. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Alamos Chardonnay offers layered aromas and flavors of crisp green apple, peach and citrus blossom. On the full and round palate, flavors of pear and pineapple emerge, balanced by subtle notes of vanilla, butterscotch and sweet brown spice. A lingering finish is accented by clean acidity and citrus zest.
