Wine Review: This almost clear colored Pinot Blanc from the Chehalem Mountains in Oregon opens with a saline, mild Bartlett pear, and flint stone bouquet with hints of mandarin orange, grapefruit pith and jasmine. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, bright, and zesty. The flavor profile is green apple and stony minerality with notes of Anjou pear and lime. We also detected some hints of saline and almond. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity fade away nicely. This wine benefits from some aeration. So briefly decant it or give it some good swirls. Once settled, we would pair this versatile Pinot Blanc with baked halibut or with cherrystone clams on the half shell. Enjoy - Ken & Mark
