Wine Review: This dark ruby offering from Carlisle opens with a spicy raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and juicy with black currant like flavors with a hint of black licorice. The finish is dry and its managed tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel would match this wine with veal medallions in brown sauce or a burger smothered with sautéed mushrooms and Swiss. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Classic aromas of mulberry, cassis, briar, and spring flowers. No mistaking this wine’s origins! On the palate, full and rich with bright acidity and silky tannins framing the raspberry and cassis-like flavors. Our best balanced Carlisle Vineyard Zinfandel to date. Enjoy this elegant, age-worthy zinfandel from late-2009 through 2017. (MRO – 10/30/08)
