Wine Review: We recently went out to dinner with friends and opened this evening with this gem. This very dark opaque purple colored wine open with a blackberry like bouquet with a hint of anise. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and initially shows a fair amount of acidity. With some air it does integrate nicely and smooth out. The flavor profile remains a spicy blackberry with notes of black licorice. The finish is dry and very lengthy. This wine is not for shy people and it should be enjoyed with a hearty meal. I enjoyed it with a pasta dish smothered in a ragu sauce. Enjoy – Ken
