Wine Review: This wine shows a lot of finesse. It’s a quality that is missing from many Aussie wines. This is a very very deep purple colored wine that opens with a ripe blackberry and black current bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and not overly structured, but it is elegant with ripe and juicy blueberry flavors. There are notes of blackberry as well. The finish is dry and its mild and reserved tannins linger slightly with a dash of pepper. This wine is drinking very nicely right now and would be a great wine to serve with duck. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Parson’s Flat is a traditional Australian blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a fragrant nose of lifted cherry and plum fruit, and underlying black pepper, earthy and herbal tones. The palate is a generous mix of sweet berry fruit, smoky oak and nougat-like tannins. Intense, but stylish, this wine will develop further complexities with time as each variety tries to assert its best character.
