Wine Review: This solid light yellow colored Chardonnay from Carneros is a winner. It opens with a light apple like bouquet with hints of pear. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, very nicely balanced between its fruit and acidity. It displays crisp apple and citrus like flavors with a hint of nectarine towards the finish. The finish is dry and refreshing with light oak notes coming in at the very end. This Chard struck me as a wine that you could drink with most foods. However, I would pair it specifically with swordfish or baked haddock. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine comes from vines dating to Bouchaine’s original plantings in 1981, growing on our windswept Napa Valley Carneros hillsides. It's a true expression of Chardonnay—bright, citrusy flavors graced with only the merest hint of oak. Its fruit flavors, bright acidity, notable texture (a hallmark characteristic of Carneros Chardonnay), and relentless finish harmonize in an elegant, stylish wine. Straw gold in color, it dances in the glass like sunlight.
