Wine Review: As many of my readers know, I tend to prefer Barbarescos over Barolos because they are more approachable at a younger age. This offering from Batasiolo is just that, very approachable. This bright ruby wine opens with a nicely perfumed cherry like bouquet. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied, smooth, elegant, and displays delicious cherry flavors with a touch of light oak on the back palate. The finish is quite dry with nicely managed tannins that linger for quite some time. The wine is approachable enough now to pair it with a juicy grilled NY strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
