Wine Review: If you drink and enjoy Zinfandel and you have not experienced a bottle of Carlisle Zin yet, it should be at the top of your to do list to find a bottle. This dark purple gem opens with a very fragrant and inviting spicy cherry vanilla like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine was very smooth, has nicely integrated acidity, with a delicious flavor profile of black cherry and blueberry. There are also slight notes of spicy anise and cola that enhance the experience. The finish is dry and nicely prolonged with some cocoa flavors that stick around a while. This crowd pleaser of a wine is one to share with good friends who really appreciate wine. We loved it and so did they. Cheers – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dark ruby-purple. Red fruits (raspberries, cherries, and plums) are mixed with suggestions of chocolate and loamy earth. On the palate, full bodied with a mouth-counting richness that belies the acidity and tannin. Optimum enjoyment should be between late 2008 and 2014. (MRO – 3/1/08)
