Wine Review: In our third tasting of Chardonnays this wine surfaced as one of our favorite value wines. This light yellow wine has a mild lemon lime bouquet. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is smooth, creamy, and delicate. Its flavor profile is green apple with notes of butter and a hint of pineapple. The finish is dry, refreshing, and linger nicely. This very food friendly would pair nicely with Chilean sea bass and or shrimp scampi. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: “Jekel’s distinctive cool climate Chardonnay shines in another wonderful vintage, with aromas of lavender, mango, nectarines, melon, pineapple and Monterey’s classic fresh lemon citrus with toppings of light smoke and clove barrel spice. This medium-full wine has the crisp acid backbone common to the Central Coast, with layers of flavor from carefully selected lots from an array of vineyards throughout Monterey. A wonderful roundness and smooth, rich mouthfeel gives in to flavors of lingering peach and pineapple. This is a wine to enjoy on its own, or with fresh fish or crab caught by the Monterey Bay fishing fleet.”
