Wine Review: It was nice to see a Childress wine race into the recommended circle. This golden yellow wine opens with a pleasant orange peel and apricot like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is balanced, rich, and concentrated with caramel and honey like flavors. The panel picked up brown sugar notes as well with hints of raisins. The finish is pleasant and lingers. The panel thought this would pair nicely with chocolate mousse. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: We were fortunate enough to be blessed with high quality botrytis (noble rot) in our Viognier block at our Vineyard Crossing site in late September of 2006. Weather conditions were favorable and concentrated the natural sugars within each grape. We hand-harvested the crop and then sorted each individual cluster to choose only the “botrytisized” berries. Hence the name “Select Berry.” Tasting Notes: Notes of citrus and orange blossom honey. Food Pairings: Serve well-chilled as a dessert in itself or with courses featuring nuts or creamy cheeses.
