Wine Review: Robert Stemmler has been a consistent producer of really good Pinot Noir in recent years. The “Nugent” from the Russian River tends to be my favorite and that is the case with the 2005 vintage. This ruby colored wine opens with a forest floor like bouquet with slight notes of cherry and oak. On the palate, this medium bodied wine shines as it is smooth, silky, and displays very flavorful raspberry like flavors with notes of spice. The finish is dry and has soft tannins. This wine would go especially well with beef stroganoff. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Ripe cherries, blackberries and blueberries with hints of earth and crushed rock. A lush, weighty and mouth coating wine. Juicy blackcurrant and wild raspberries balanced by nice acidity. Drink now through 2012.
